Ìsèse Day: Ogun traditional worshippers thumb up govt.

Traditional Worshippers in Ogun State have thumbed up state government and expressed hope for the official announcement of a public holiday on the 20th of August, towards celebration of ‘Ìsèse day’, in recognition of their beliefs, saying Gov. Dapo Abiodun has extended hands of friendship to their members in the state.
Oba Ìsèse of Ogun State and Chairman, Ìsèse Kingdom Of Truth Association Of Nigeria, Oba Ifarotimi Adifagbola Balogun disclosed at a courtesy visit to office of the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan fagbayi, in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, in preparation for this year Ìsèse day.
He said the essence of the visit was to appreciate the present government in the State for legalizing 20th of August every year as a public holiday for the celebration of the ‘Ìsèse festival’ in the state, saying that it is evident that the present administration is committed to ensuring that there is unity and peaceful co- existence among the various religions sects in the State.

Oba Adifagbola Balogun added that the essence of the festival celebration, which is held simultaneously across the state was to offer atonements and prayers for the state government, indigenes of the state, the traditional adherents, and different communities in the state for the new calendar year of the traditional religion.
Earlier, Hon. Fagbayi said that the present administration has reiterated its commitment towards promotion of religious and cultural practices among different sectors across the State.
He said that Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration is poised towards promoting culture, tradition, religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence of different groups and religious sect in the State, adding that, the present government is in support of the promotion of the Ìsèse festival.
“Indeed, the present administration is in support of Ìsèse festival in all ramifications that why the State government declare every 20th of August a public holiday to celebrate the day with its adherents in the state.
“I will just like to implore the members of the Association, just like the name, Ìsèse Kingdom Of Truth Association, to allow peaceful co-existence among its members, so as to foster unity and tranquility in the state.” Hon. Fagbayi said
