JUST IN: Israeli PM, Netanyahu accuses ICC of “trying to shackle Israel’s hands”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the International Criminal Court (ICC) of “trying to shackle Israel’s hands.”
In May, the ICC said it is seeking arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Hamas leader in Gaza Yahya Sinwar on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity over the October 7 attacks on Israel and the subsequent war in Gaza.
“The ICC is trying to shackle Israel’s hands and prevent us from defending ourselves. And if Israel’s hands are tied, America is next,” Netanyahu warned on Wednesday.
The prime minister also said that such a move would imperil the “ability of all democracies to fight terrorism.”
“Let me assure you, the hands of the Jewish state will never be shackled. Israel will always defend itself,” he said as the crowd erupted in applause and cheers.
